One of the country's larger hobby trade shows, and the biggest in the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada, is the annual R/C show held in Monroe Washington which is just a short hop, skip, and jump from Seattle.

Occupying the massive 53,000 sq. ft. Arena Building at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds we have designed areas for all avenues of R/C activity which include: A dedicated and fenced flight arena, Boat Pond, at least two car tracks, Battle Bot and Hockey Bot arenas, with room to add more if needed. In addition to exhibits by some 100 or more manufacturers and organizations, a Swap Meet, which is the largest of its type West of the Mississippi, the show has been a magnet for modelers who compete for prizes in a Static Competition that is staggering for the beauty of their models on display.

The show is classically held on the second weekend of February each year. Public admissions now include all three days, Friday through Sunday, with the show open to the public from 2 pm till 7 pm on Friday, Saturday from 10 am till 5 pm, and Sunday from 10 am till 3 pm. Daily General Admission rates are $12.00 per adult, and $3 for children age 6 and up. Children under age 6 are admitted free Friday and Saturday. Sunday rates are $7.00 per adult with Children 10 and under admitted free with accompanying adult.

Modelers (and exhibitors) from all over the USA and Canada attend the show which is a showcase for all the latest in kits, engines, motors, radio systems, plans, accessories, and other hardware. From our polling, all who participated reported having a great time, had very impressive sales numbers, and found new ways to enjoy and stimulate interest within their business and hobby.

New for this year (2010)

Vendors
We have re-designed and increased our Vendor area from last year as we sold out and could not accommodate everyone who wanted to participate in the show. This year we are offering a discount for first time Vendors and making space on the NW Model Hobby Expo front page for their Logo and web link as an incentive. As in the past, all booth fees agreed to are the final price for the event. To assist first time vendors at our show we are offering booth spaces for $175 per each 10x10 space and free electrical to your selected booth. We do not have any hidden charges for adjustments to, or for moving any objects into or out of your booth at this show. See our vendor pages for more details.

Clubs and S.I.G’s (special interest groups)
Over the past few years we have noticed that sometimes, staffing a booth for the duration of the show, presets a problem with volunteer persons. To aid in this, and not wanting to have vacant booth spaces during the show, we have decided to make three large areas within the booth space structure where the various displays may grow and or shrink to accommodate the many individual organizations wanting to interface with the public. We will install a line of tables and backdrops with sufficient chairs so that time sharing will be made easy and visibility to the show’s many attendees will be maximized.

Indoor Fun Fly, AMA Sanction 10-0084, will be held over the weekend with events being scheduled from 11:00 AM till 3:00 PM on Saturday and finals from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM on Sunday with awards handed out at 2:00 PM on Sunday. Indoor Fun Fly Information

$tatic Di$play Competition has, over the years, been dwindling in number of entrants across all categories and we are going to try to bait the hook a bit… All participants in this event will be given a weekend pass to the show.
Also, documentation is NOT required to enter the competition, but will factor into the scoring, with full points awarded to the models with documentation.

Our Website
It never ceases to amaze how many “Hits” we get on our web site, even in months during the year when the show is in storage… Can you imagine over 500 hits in June?? Therefore we are adding a Forum section to our web site with a North West Activities section where a club or special interest group may announce and chat about their upcoming event and help with their promotions, A For Sale Not Requiring Shipping section, and a Tail Gate Section to share and connect with fellow modelers (GIVE IT A TRY!!!)
